CHILDRENS' POEM...

THE UNICORN

He came into the forest glade one day:
Silent, swift and strong;
He stood and watched the children play,
And listened to their song.
He bowed his head to touch the ground
With his horn of white,
And a blaze of flowers grew all around –
Oh, what a wondrous sight!

There’s magic in a unicorn –
If you should chance to see
A horse all white, with a spiral horn,
You’re in The Land Of Make-Believe.

He flies across the midnight skies
And leaves a trail of stars.
As children dream behind closed eyes
They hear his hoofbeats from afar;
They ride with him to distant worlds
And see wonders far and wide;
Inside the dreams of boys and girls
The unicorn comes to life.

There’s magic in a unicorn –
If you should chance to see
A horse all white, with a spiral horn,
You’re in The Land Of Make-Believe.

Note...this poem, along with other poems and also short stories, comes from a collection of works I have entitled THE LAND OF MAKE-BELIEVE
